Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease where the production or use of insulin by the body is impaired. There are various causes of diabetes including genetics, obesity, lack of exercise, and environmental factors.

An estimated 23.6 million children and adults are diagnosed with diabetes in the United States. Juvenile diabetes (also known as type 1 diabetes) is an auto-immune disease that usually occurs in children and young adults. It’s caused by the body’s inability to produce enough insulin due to the destruction of pancreatic cells by auto-antibodies.

Diabetes type 2 is caused by the body’s inability to produce enough insulin as well as the cells inability to use the insulin that is produced. In both diabetes type 1 and 2, the build up of high glucose levels in the bloodstream causes damages in several organs such as the heart and heart vessels, eyes, kidneys, nerves and skin.

A recent clinical study combined the use of a high dose immunosuppression with an injection of reconditioned autologous stem cells from the peripheral blood in 14 patients with type 1 diabetes. Only one of the patients had a prolonged increase of their pancreatic function and was able to decrease or stop their daily insulin injections. Other studies demonstrated that injections of autologous stem cells directly in to the pancreas improved patients with type 2 diabetes.

Two hypotheses might explain how cellular therapy can increase pancreatic production of insulin either by the implantation of the new cells that give birth to new pancreatic cells, or by induction and replication of existing beta-cells in the pancreas which result in beta cell mass restoration.

Cellulogix International offers treatment for diabetic patients through the use of stem cells collected from peripheral blood. Cell therapy is combined with a holistic comprehensive approach and the entire treatment takes five days. Our program includes lifestyle and diet recommendations as well as personalized natural supplement prescription for glucose metabolism support.

Patients are followed up on a regular basis with post stem cell therapy to monitor their progress.
